Dear Fundamentalist Christians

Dear Fundamentalist Christians,

We don’t know each other very well, but you have been saying some bizarrely inaccurate things about two organizations I belong to: the Mormon Transhumanist Association and the Christian Transhumanist Association. I recently had the privilege of speaking at the first ever Christian Transhumanist Association Conference, and I have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so glad to see so many faithful Christians engaged in these important discussions. I’m happy to report both organizations are well and thriving!

However, there has also been some negative feedback from a loud minority. I’m not opposed to thoughtful critiques, but if you haven’t researched what you are critiquing it’s hard to take you seriously. I’m not sure there is any way we could have a rational conversation when you accuse me of being an “adulteress,” “Hitleresque,” “doing Satan’s work,” and “fooling around with demons” with a “doctrine of devils.” Thorough rebuttals of these criticisms simply aren’t worth my time. You are screaming Biblical mongering at a figment of your imagination. Also, because I’m Mormon, I doubt you’ll consider me as anything other than the “anti-Christ” anyway.

All I can say to you is. . .

It’s 2018. Join us when you’re ready. I will welcome you with my wide, open, loving, queer, Mormon, transhumanist arms. After all, it’s what Jesus would do.
